Classic and Improved Champagne Cocktail

Writer: Kevin KosKevin Kos

For the last episode in this crazy year, I will show you how to make two Champagne cocktails to welcome 2021 and finally say GOODBYE 2020! I used Bollinger Special Cuvee in both of them (you always want to use up an opened champagne bottle ASAP) and they are really easy to make so you will have more time to dedicate to your loved ones. While 2020 was a challenge for many, there is also a lot to be thankful for in the Cocktail time family! We wish you a wonderful 2021 and thank you for being a part of our community in 2020! Here is how I made these two Champagne cocktails.

Champagne Cocktail

• 1 sugar cube

• Angostura bitters (soak the sugar cube)

• 100 ml (3 ⅓ oz) Champagne

• lemon zest for aroma Soak the sugar cube with Angostura Bitters and place it in a chilled champagne flute. Slowly pour the champagne down the side of the glass. Spray with oils from a lemon peel and discard.

Improved Champagne Cocktail

• 1 demerara sugar cube

• Angostura bitters (soak the sugar cube)

• 30 ml (1 oz) Cognac

• 100 ml (3 ⅓ oz) Champagne

• orange zest for aroma

Soak the sugar cube with Angostura Bitters and place it in a chilled champagne flute. Add chilled cognac, then slowly pour the champagne down the side of the glass. Spray with oils from a lemon peel and discard. Enjoy!
