Gibson Martini with Hendrick's gin. Gibson, Martini's savory cousin, is a cocktail from the end of the 19th century, when a bartender made a Martini with a pickled onion instead of an olive, as requested by a San Francisco businessman Walter D.K. Gibson. In this episode, I made one from a parallel universe, using Hendrick's Orbium gin, dry vermouth, lemon bitters, and homemade pickled onions. All of that gives this drink an oddly exquisite taste. And I can humbly say this was the best Martini I have ever tried. So far.
Exquisite Gibson:
· 60 ml (2 oz) Hendrick's Orbium gin
· 10 ml (1/3 oz) dry vermouth
· dash of lemon bitters
· pickled shallot
